When I always thing of what I'm good at, I come up blank. I always feel like a person normally excels at one certain thing VERY well. No matter what, that one person has something they know they can do. Sew, cook, sing. write, dance, paint , math, science , & you get my picture.
During High school I never really excelled at those. Sports sure but honestly, reality of doing something that long for pleasure isn't possible. I want to be great at something that really makes a difference. I don't know maybe it's the dreamer in me.
Then I realized I am really a good reader. I enjoy reading books and I'm pretty good and fast at it. I can normally read a book within a day or so if I really get into it. I always feel like I'm apart of that book and have my own character.
I also think I'm good at saving money (on somethings). I have always loved to get good deals & garage sale.
Let me tell you some stories of my past. When I was in elementary, I remember in the spring, my mom used to call me in sick on Friday's & we would go yard sailing and find awesome things. It's been in my blood since I was a kid. I can remember riding in her van driving around to find some things. I can never remember what we bought but I remember driving around with no cares in the world with her & Drema, Steph & Dani. It is one of my best memories of her......
Back to my money saving. I really think my niche is couponing. I know how to do it. I know the policies pretty well & I save us a decent amount of money on most of our products. I think I will try to start posting my deals when I do them. I went tonight & will post the savings tomorrow .
Good night readers

Oh I've missed you.....
I've missed being on here writing and letting my feelings out. Finally the Rowland house is back in 100% health. We have been battling the sickness for weeks now & I'm hoping it's gone for good....
I've been compiling a list of things I've wanted to blog about. Most of it is what I've asked my friends of what they think a housewife should know how to do. I must say some is depending on what works with your family. I've figured out what I think I should know how to do well & then what I know.
When I was growing up, my mom did everything for us so we wouldn't have to. I never did chores, dishes, laundry, cooking, and cleaning. She did it all because she wanted my dad & I to never do anything. I never appreciated it as much as I do now.. I never got the chance to tell her thank you or even learn how to do it. She passed away when I was 15 . So after that, my dad & I had to learn to do everything but I was still in high school. I had sports 24/7 & my dad worked so I still never learned... Once I graduated and I barely had to cook because I went to friends houses where their parent's cooked for me..
So learning on my own is very hard. I can't pick up the phone & ask my mom how to do something. I can ask my mother in law or other family but I want to try to do it on my own. I will give you a list of what I'm learning to do & then do the normal blog thing & post pictures of me trying and either failure or success.
My list so far is:
1.Cooking- I am thinking from scratch instead of boxed meals because I am home all day. I should be able to prepare a meal. Laziness does set in sometimes but 98% of the time it's from scratch & healthy ingredients
2. Cleaning- Sweeping, dusting, mopping, etc. I'm learning to make my own cleaning supplies but I recently fell in love with Method Cleaning Products & am very tempted to just keep purchasing these instead of making it because it smells DIVINE!
3. Laundry- I normally just throw everything together and put it on cold and clean. I'm going to investigate the "right" way to do laundry & try to fix my current way of doing it.
4. Organizing- For us this includes our stockpile from couponing & everyday house items. Picking up & putting away regular items & try to make our house nicer.
5. Budgeting- We've been doing better with our budget. We need to be more diligent with it but we're slowly getting it perfect. Our bills are paid on time & also I coupon to keep our out of pocket cost down.
6. Ironing- Which is one thing I've never learned how to do. I would love for our clothes to not be wrinkly when I leave them in the dryer a few days longer than they should (; . This one I will be learning very soon since I want to look nice.
7. Education- We do have a two year old who is very smart and I try to keep up with him and his learning abilities. I need to have a schedule to include some learning projects .
That's most of my list & if you can think of anything else please leave a comment so I can add it to my list.
